You understand by viewing website you will be introduced to an integrative approach to helping women achieve healthy eating habits and wellness that incorporates several innovative energy-oriented methods and self-help techniques, including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), The Emotion Code® and Reiki (collectively the “Energy Methods”). Energy Methods is a shared term used to refer to a variety of alternative healing techniques, approaches, and methods based on the use and modification of energy fields and other processes meant to promote health and well-being in mind, body, and spirit. EFT, also known as Tapping, seeks to address imbalances within a person’s energy system, as well as the energetic influence of thoughts, beliefs, and emotions on the body. The Emotion Code, developed by chiropractor Bradley Nelson, is designed to allow the practitioner and client to communicate directly with the client’s subconscious mind to correct energy imbalances for the purpose of releasing trapped emotional energy and to help restore health and well-being. Reiki is described as a subtle and effective technique believed to work not only on the physical level of the body but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki uses guided life force energy to help reduce stress and balance the energy system; thereby creating the opportunity for the mind/body to heal naturally. The prevailing premise of the Energy Methods is that the flow and balance of the body’s electromagnetic and more subtle energies are important for physical, mental, and emotional health, and for fostering well-being

While the Energy Methods are intended for “healing”, it is not to be construed that the use of any of the Energy Methods is the practice of medicine, psychotherapy, or other licensed health care practice. Rather, the Energy Methods are designed to assist an individual, in addressing imbalances in the physical systems of the body as well as in the energy systems of the body; thereby, creating the opportunity for the mind/body to heal naturally. In addition, they can also assist in addressing the energetic influence of thoughts, beliefs and emotions and how they impact the health and well-being of the individual. You understand there is a distinction between “healing” using the Energy Methods and the practice of medicine, psychotherapy, or any other licensed health care practice. Further, you understand that the Energy Methods are not intended to be a substitute for medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment, and they do not replace the services of licensed health care professionals. Sarah Speers strongly advises you seek professional advice as appropriate before making any health decision.

Although the Energy Methods appear to have promising mental, emotional, and physical health benefits and there is a growing amount of scientific research indicating that EFT meets the criteria to be considered an evidence-based technique, especially for managing stress, they have yet to be fully researched by the Western academic, medical, and psychological communities. Therefore, the Energy Methods are considered experimental and the extent of their effectiveness, as well as their risk and benefits, are not fully known. The Energy Methods are self-regulated and the State of California does not license, register, or certify any practitioners of the Energy Methods and considers them to be alternative or complementary to the healing arts that are licensed by the State of California.
